The Prison Gate has a dark past of misery and despair. This is not where you wanted to be stuck, waiting to be 'interrogated' by the executioner. So despite its thick walls and double bars, plenty of prisoners have escaped from the Prison Gate.
You will hear about cunning prisoners and spectacular escapes during the tour of the medieval Goal. Afterwards, you will take part in the hilarious Prison Gate Pubquiz that tests your knowledge of crime and punishment through the ages...
